Chinland
Since 2022, I have been documenting the armed resistance against Myanmar’s military junta. The 2021 coup plunged the country into chaos and civil war. In response to the regime’s escalating war crimes and crimes against humanity, thousands of young Burmese have taken up arms across the country.
In the remote western mountains, I have focused my work on the Chin ethnic minority, whose youth have become a symbol of this resistance. I have followed this generation of fighters who now control a large territory—Chinland—divided among various armed groups. A region torn between conflict, humanitarian collapse, and the dream of unity.
