Simon is an award-winning professional editorial photographer living in the north of England and working internationally. His work embraces a range of genres including portrait, heritage, landscape, documentary and photojournalism.
Commissioned work has taken him across the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, Southeast Asia and the United States with publication credits that include National Geographic Magazine, The Observer Magazine and The Sunday Times Magazine. His work has appeared in almost all UK national newspapers and in over 300 books, journals and magazines around the world.
He is a previous winner of the Kodak Professional Photographer of the Year, the BIPP Professional Photographer of the Year, and he is the only British winner of the International Art Portrait Award. In 1991 Simon was awarded a Fellowship (FRPS) of the Royal Photographic Society and in January 2021, he was elected President and an Honorary Fellow (HonFRPS) of the Society. In 2023 Simon was the founding director of the RPS Professional Photographers Association.
Simon is a Photography graduate of the University of the Creative Arts (BA) and Saint Martins School of Art in London (MA). Between professional commissions, he is a lecturer in Photography and Creative Practice at several UK colleges and universities.
