The water level of all the rivers is flowing over 53 cm of danger level. Vurungamari, Rajibpur, Nageshwri, Fulbari, Sadar, Ulipur, Chilmari, Low land, and 58 Char area’s unions of Rowmari were flooded and waterlogged due to the upstream water and heavy rainfall for the last two weeks.

A total of 69 shelters were opened for the affected people. About 100,000 people remain in 69 shelters in Kurigram District. About 400,000 people are affected in this district. This is the second time flood has hit in the same season. The district administration of Kurigram allocated 1610,700 MT GR rice and 2,500,000 Taka to distribute among the affected people of those Upazillas.

About 1,000 villages are directly affected, 1,200,000 people are homeless, and more than 100 people die this rainy season. The government and many NGOs are working to help them.
