The BarTur Photo Award celebrates photographers who challenge how we view the world

BTPA AWARD WINNERS: COVID19 Reflections: OPEN CALL

Following an open call for COVID19 pictures from around the world , THE BARTUR AWARD is pleased to present AGGELOS BARAI as 1st Prize Winner of $750 for his image of refugees and migrants wearing masks to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, wait to get on a bus after their arrival at the port of Piraeus, near Athens.  CARLO COZZOLI, won Best COVID Photo Series, winning $500 for his images from the Italian COVID19 epicentre of Lombardy and winning $250 for COVID Creativity Award was ENDA BURKE for his nostalgic and humorous portraits of his parents taken as a form of escapism during lockdown. The BarTur Photo Award were also pleased to award highly commended awards to Alexandr Oschepkov, Andrea Hernandes Briceno, Barun Rajgaria, Giulia Minolfi, Jan Dzacovsky, Raphael Alves and Yuyang Liu. To see more of our winners and those that were highly commended, please visit our 'COVID19 Reflections Winners' page.

Generously funded by Lars Gitz Architects, our 2020 BarTur Photo Award winners were also supported to produce this fantastic body of work around their experiences of COVID19.

Following a call out to all of those people that participated in this years BarTur Photo Award, we are pleased to present  Merav Maroody as the WINNER of $500 for her images around  experiences of COVID-19 her local community, capturing everyday life under lockdown.
