Rodrigo Abd

Rodrigo Abd was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on October 27, 1976.

His career as a photographer began in the newspapers La Razón and La Nación in Buenos Aires, Argentina, from 1999 to 2003. Since 2003 he has been staff photographer for the Associated Press based in Guatemala between 2003 & 2012, with the exception of 2006, when he was based in Kabul , Afghanistan. From 2012 to 2020 base in Lima, Peru. Rodrigo works on special AP assignments mainly covering social and political conflicts throughout Latin America, Along with other AP photographers, they were awarded the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Photography for their work on the Syrian civil war. Also in 2013 he was awarded the World Press Photo, 1st prize in General News.

Currently based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, searching for stories in what he calls “Deep Latin America”. Mixing his work between digital photography and his old wooden box camera, in black and white.

Naked Peru

The pandemic stripped Peru, showing its historical weaknesses, a fragile health and economic system that was well "made up" in recent years but in 2020 all the miseries surfaced, leaving the Andean country badly injured.
